Bilateral ODA for Health by Financing Modality and Recipient Country

Differentiating bilateral ODA transfers in support of health by grants and loans or equity investments and exhibit gross disbursements as well as repayments, and the resulting net disbursements

  • Looking at genuine aid in the form of grants made available through bilateral cooperation for improving health outcomes in different developing countries in gross and net terms, i.e. presenting disbursements and recoveries
  • Exhibiting lending for health projects including loans and equity investments, while revealing disbursements going to and repayments of principal and interest from developing countries

This map presents the following dimensions:

  • Amounts per capita in order to observe geographical priorities of donors and the use of grants and loans for different countries; these amounts include the health ODA transfers for regional and global programmes that are allocated according to the population size of the respective countries (Health ODA per capita incl. reg. and global amounts)
  • Total volumes after allocating health ODA transfers not specified by country on a per capita basis as described above in order to show a complete picture and the shares of health ODA allocated to different recipient countries in percent, taking into account regional and global programmes as described above (Total Health ODA incl. reg. and global amounts)
  • Total volumes of health ODA that were allocated by donors to specific countries, i.e. not considering the aid for regional or global health programmes (Total Health ODA excl. reg. and global amounts)
